WHAT IS A RHINOPLASTY?
One of the most commonly requested procedures, rhinoplasties entail surgically reshaping the nose. With this procedure, Prof. Dini can harmoniously improve the appearance of your face by changing the shape and size of your nose.
WHO IS THIS PROCEDURE FOR?
There is no age limit for this type of aesthetic surgical procedure, but it is always a good idea to wait until the age of 15 or 16 when the bones and cartilage are fully developed.
Rhinoplasty patients include those who wish to increase or decrease the size of their nose, change the shape of the bridge or the tip or nostril width, alter the angle between the forehead and the nose or between the nose and the upper lip.
Congenital nasal defects or defects due to trauma, which are often the cause of respiratory issues, are corrected with a procedure known as rhinoseptoplasty.
WHAT DOES THE PRE-OPERATIVE VISIT ENTAIL?
The purpose of the pre-operative visit with Prof. Dini is to do an overall clinical assessment and to evaluate how best to correct the shape and size of the patient's nose, explaining the improvements that aesthetic surgery can make. The professor uses an innovative digital tool that digitally processes the patient's picture and illustrates the corrections that will be made.
HOW IS THE RHINOPLASTY PROCEDURE DONE?
Rhinoplasty procedures are generally done under general anaesthesia and take about an hour. It is a completely painless operation that does not leave visible scars, as they remain hidden inside the nasal cavity.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY?
At the end of the procedure, a small cast with two strips of tape will be applied to the bridge of the nose but no nasal tampons will be used. The cast will be removed a week after the procedure and with each passing day, the nose will take on the shape decided upon during the pre-operative visit.
